My last fall season soccer game!

My last soccer game was Nov. 5, 2011. The bad news is that we lost 8-1 against the Indy Burn. I played really hard and did my best.  Here are some pictures of the game.

Billy's perspective:  This game was one of Blake's toughest of the season.  He played a team a year older and, at times for most of his teammates, a head taller.  These kids were giants compared to our U9 kids!  However, Blake stepped up to the challenge.  I have seen Blake perform some magic with his def touches and brilliants shots on goals but in this game, he was a field general.  He motivated his friends to play harder, he moved players in position, and he was aggressive attacking the ball.

The highlight for me was towards the end of the game.  Blake was playing as the lone forward up front.  The ball was in the defensive half of the field and was kicked across the goal to the corner flag.  Blake noticed that his team was grouped together on the opposite side and he was, in fact, the closest to the ball.  He sprinted from the offensive half back to the corner flag to gather the ball.  By that time, the opposing players were closing in on the ball and Blake.  He then took the ball around defenders leaving them in his dust on a Giggs-like run up the sideline towards the goal of the other team.  His cross unfortunately was blocked which resulted in a corner.  The work rate of this one play was so impressive simply because Blake never gave up!

The whistle blew for the end of the game shortly after the corner.  Despite his team being down and the end of the game coming so fast as to put any come back hopes to rest, Blake ran his legs off, showing off his mutant football super hero skills!

Blake watching you play football the way you do is one of my most favorite things!  You love to play and we all love to watch that enthusiasm.  Well done, Blake!

Awesome blog, Mister Blake! I know you were disappointed about the results of your last game, but it sounds like you played your heart out, as usual. Good job! I love you! Mama Tucky
